THE ABIGAIL RODKEY MEMORIAL FUND
THIS FUND WAS PUT INTO PLACE IN MEMORY OF OUR BELOVED DAUGHTER ABBEY Abbey was treated at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for a malignant brain tumor. We have seen many children fighting numerous types of illnesses in the Oncology Department. This is our families, opportunity to bring a smile to another child’s face. Our daughter had a smile that could literally take your breath away. She was a very bright 12 year old that had the world at her hands. Abbey had attended Fernhill Elementary School as well as Peirce Middle School. She was a wonderful child with a heart of gold and just as bright as could be. Even throughout her chemotherapy, she attended school three days a week and managed to complete all work as well as make honor roll. We fought this battle for two years, however to look and speak with Abbey you would have never known she was ill. The sudden loss of our daughter has been devastating to our family as well as all of her friends. In honor of everything Abbey has been through, we have set up a fund for the children of the neuro-oncology unit of CHOP. Throughout the year my family will be going to CHOP and handing out gift cards to the children. The younger ones will receive Toys R Us cards and the older kids will receive prepaid Visa cards. Take the time to enjoy your child’s smile daily! If you would like to contribute to this fund, for future gifts to the children of Neuro-Oncology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia please use the address listed below.
